We are proud to say that traditional carols, Christmas lights, the blessing of the crib and nativity figures have featured every December on Reydon Corner for over 45 years. In recent years the committee have been able, due to the generosity of local people, to fund decorations, trees and lights in other village locations too.
Switch On Night is always very well supported and in recent years has included the Southwold firemen escorting father Christmas to the event, the Helen Price Hand bell ringers and the village choir - Music Vox.
Events to raise money for the lights have included slide shows on local history, illustrated talks, summer garden coffee mornings, jumble sales, Christmas Bazaar & Book sales. Forthcoming events are shown in the event calendar under the category of fundraising.
The Randolph Hotel have been very generous in raising money during the Family Fun Day in August and The Scarecrow Trail committee has dedicated all the funds raised from the trail to the Christmas Lights. Blyth Valley Radio have recorded and broadcast the service in 2011. Alongside all this many individuals and local businesses have donated money and time and continue to do so.
