It was announced on 3 May that local Councillor Sue Allen had passed away suddenly. Sue served as a Waveney Councillor for the Southwold and Reydon ward for 14 years, and in this role worked closely with Reydon Parish Counciil, regularly attending meetings in Reydon. Tributes have been paid by many, including Mark Bee, leader of Waveney District Council, Steven Baker, Chief executive of Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Council, and Southwold Town Mayor Matthew Horwood.
Barrie Remblance, Chairman of Reydon Parish Council also paid tribute to Sues work as a Councillor, saying 'Sue was a dedicated and hardworking Councillor, always willing to help on issues being dealt with by Reydon Parish Council. Most recently she has worked with us on the application to build affordable homes in Green Lane which are currently under construction. She will be much missed. Reydon Parish Council send our sincere condolences to her family, friends and council colleagues.
A service to celebrate Sues life and achievements will be held on Monday 21 May at 12 noon, at St Edmunds Church Southwold, and that there will be a procession leaving around 11.40 from the Town Hall . Family flowers only, with donations for Blyth Estuary Partnership & Southwold Common Trust , the proceeds will be split between these.
No black is to be worn, unless official robes.
A book of Condolence will be available at Southwold Town Hal for people to share their memories of Sue.
