Read or have 6 books read to you, collect prizes and when you finish get a medal & certificate!

10.30am-1.00pm at Southwold Arts Centre, St Edmunds Hall.  Every Friday in the Summer Holidays!

Film, Crafts, Games, Art and more! with Southwold Library for Children and their Families

Friday 3rd August Wreck-It Ralph 2012, PG, 97min.    Make a Ralph or Vanelope mask, a candy car, a jelly bean decoration and decorate a lollipop whilst snacking on some Pac-Man cheeses.

Friday 10th August Snoopy & Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie 2015, U, 90min.  Make a dog house and a Snoopy mobile whilst giving yourself Snoopy and munching on peanuts and “dog” biscuits.

Friday 17th August Robots, 2005, U, 86mins.  Make a robot pencil pot and decorate a finger balancing robot, create a roll a robot game and make a marshmallow robot or a Rice Krispie head robot.

Friday 24th August Muppet Treasure Island, 1996, U, 96mins.  Dress as a pirate with your own hat, eye patch and hook hand whilst making a piratical telescope and munching on some chocolate treasure and some chocolate orange boats.

Friday 31st August James and the Giant Peach, 1996, U, 80mins.  Try some peaches with sweetie insects and make some grape caterpillars, oreo worm cups and cheesy ladybirds.  Create a paper plate seagull  and a ladybird headband.

Activities start at 10.30am Ticket Prices Under 16s £ 3.00 (Two carers free)  Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.   Unaccompanied and Additional Adults £ 3.00 Refreshments available

Holiday Italian for the Beginner or the Rusty

Beginning Monday 6th August for 6 weeks

£70 for a 6 week course, 2 hours a week from 4.00pm.

Storytime & Owl with Kind Hart Animals

Thursday 9th August 2.00pm

We’ll be reading some owl stories, chatting about how amazing owls are and there will be a chance to come and get up close with Glimfeather, our real barn owl.

£1 per child. Suitable for all ages.

 

Orwell in Southwold: a guided walk with local author Ronald Binns

Thursday 9th August 11.00am from Southwold Library

Join Ronald Binns on a tour of George Orwell's Southwold and see the houses where he lived and wrote. Learn about his long association with the town and how Southwold and its people

entered into his writing. Ronald Binns is the author of “Orwell in Southwold”.

£5 per person.  Approx. 75 minutes. Limited number.

Family Fun Day: Southwold Boating Lake and Tearooms

Sunday 12th August 10.00am – 4.00pm

Join Southwold Library and Beach Bonkers at a family fun day hosted by Southwold Boating Lakes & Tea Rooms

Beach Bonkers will have a tableful of beachcombing treasures for you to explore, a mini-beach for you to search and a giant beachcombing board game to play.  Southwold Library will be on hand with seaside stories and crafts.
