Our final quiz of this season saw a last minute substitution putting Amanda Humphry back in the quizmaster’s chair - good wishes were sent to Jim who was ill and unable to lead the quiz. A slightly depleted but none the less enthusiastic group of five teams took part in an entertaining and varied quiz compiled jointly by Amanda and Jim.

The top placed teams this month were, in third place ‘If Onlys’ (98 points), in second place ‘Load of Bowls’ (104 point) and winners ‘What, no Broadside?’ (116 points)

The total raised this month was £194.  It was decided to donate this to our local Scout/Cub group.

We were delighted to receive a lovely letter from the pupils of Yr One at Reydon Primary School and their teachers thanking us for last month’s donation to them. We enjoyed seeing the photos of how their outdoor area had been transformed and wish the pupils much enjoyment and enriched learning out there!

In total this season the Reydon Community Quiz has raised £2645, and has supported the following good causes: David Smith Charity Bike Ride ( Art for Cure Cancer charity), Suffolk Wildlife Trust, (Southwold and Reydon branch), Sole Bay Care Fund, Southwold and Reydon Pantomime Group, RNLI (Southwold and Dunwich Branch) , Southwold Library, Reydon Primary School, Southwold and Reydon Scouts Group.

That is absolutely brilliant - what a wonderful community we have!

As this, our first quiz season in our new home, comes to an end ,many thanks as ever to the Bowls Club for hosting the quiz, score master Barrie Remblance, Ray Skitt and Ian Bradbury for running the bar, raffle organisers Jackie Doy, Nicky Craigie and Steve Renwick, all those who have taken a turn as quiz complier/presenter,  and all the competitors. Your support is greatly appreciated.

The quiz will now take a summer break, and resume on Friday 18 October at Sole Bay Bowls Club. Contact quiz coordinator Amanda on ahumphry@talktalk.net  if you would like to come and join this fun quiz evening, and help raise funds for local good causes.
