Lighthouse Ladies Annual Putting Competition.
What a memorable weekend Britain had for sport and just when you thought it was all over it was that time of the year for our annual putting competition! Once again we were blessed with an amazingly sunny late afternoon and to play in such a beautiful location is an absolute bonus. Teams were picked, clubs at the ready and we were off- I'm not sure whether the course is getting smaller or we're all getting better but it seemed that we were soon having scores tallied by our superb organiser Jane Hughes and we were on our way to Southwold Golf Club for a well earned ( and delicious) meal - a big "Thank you " to Gareth and team for ensuring it all went so smoothly to plan. Winners and losers were announced ( Molly Crick actually surpassed herself with not only winning the trophy but also 2 holes in one - quite an achievement by any standard) and lollipops were handed out to our other hole in one winners ( more every year!) and I'm sure Carole Andrews will find the losers wooden spoon extremely useful !! Thank you to Poppy at Southwold Putting Green for use of your welcoming facilities and a big "Thank You" to all our Ladies who were such good sports at this ever popular annual event.
There is no meeting in August - the next one will be Tuesday 17th September - 7.30 at Reydon Village Hall when Karen Brown will present an intriguing talk ( and demo) on Book Folding.
