Legal Matters Information & Advice Session: Being an Executor under a Will -the pros and cons

Monday 6th January 10.30am

Local Solicitor Stuart Johnson, fully accredited with Solicitors for the Elderly, will advise on what an Executor of a will is and what it may involve if you are made one.

 

French for improvers: A 10 week course for those with some previous learning

Mondays from 13th January for 10 weeks at 2pm – 3.30pm

A course designed for anyone who already has some knowledge of French and who would like to further develop their skills.

This course will help you to: Become more confident with spoken French, Develop a deeper understanding of basic grammar such as the use of verbs and adjectives & Expand your vocabulary

Classes start on Mondays from 13th January for 10 weeks at 2pm – 3.30 at Southwold Library (No class 27th Jan and 17th Feb).  Course fee £80 payable at time of booking.

Jumpstart January: Cuppa and a Chat drop-ins with Wellbeing Suffolk

We will be hosting “Cuppa and a chat” drop in sessions in partnership with Wellbeing Suffolk.

Silent Cinema with Live Music: Harold Lloyd in “The Freshman”

Saturday 18th January 2.30pm & 7.30pm Stella Peskett Millennium Hall

With Creative Arts East, The Lucky Dog Picturehouse and the BFI

Enrol now for a one-night semester of slapstick with the Professor of pratfalls, Harold Lloyd, in his Varsity-themed romp (and biggest box-office hit) The Freshman!  The new student on campus, Harold, dreams of being the most popular man in college but instead becomes the butt of the joke when he attempts to join the football team. The Freshman showcases Lloyd's faculty for physical comedy as well as his trademark charm, cementing his place alongside Keaton and Chaplin as a PhD of silent comedy.  90 minutes long.

The Lucky Dog Picturehouse recreates the early cinema experience for modern audiences. They specialise in screening classic silent films with original, era-specific live musical soundtracks composed and performed by some of the UK’s finest young musicians.

Barbara Johnson of Spotty Dog Designs will show you a variety of fabulous crochet designs.

•           20/1: Beginners/Returners to crochet – a start or a refresher

•           27/1: Traditional granny square or Afghan square

•           3/2: Plain square – simple but effective design

•           10/2: Square target – angular design with central focus

•           17/2: Granny stripes – simple but striking striped pattern

•           24/2: Anemone square – fun granny square with “petals”

Bring your own various wools & appropriate crochet hook – patterns provided.

Each class is 2 hours and costs £5 per class or £25 for all 6 classes.
