The community bus service, previously known as the 'Southwold Shuttle' will resume on 19 October.
Sole Bay Community Bus will have a slightly changed timetable. There are now regular stops at The Old Hall Cafe and on Mondays and Thursdays we will be going to Walberswick. Of course the bus can still be 'hailed' anywhere on the route. Timetables will be printed soon. For the first couple of weeks, journeys will be free while we test it all out. We will only take 6 people on the bus at any one time, masks or face coverings MUST be worn.
The bus is now run by Sole Bay Care Fund, The Southwold Voluntary Help Centre (VHC) and Halesworth Area Community Transport. We are still wanting voluntary drivers, all shifts are approx 3.5hrs long, training will be given. It is also hoped that in time the bus can be hired for community use with a registered driver. If interested in driving, contact the VHC on 01502 724549. Businesses that would like their logo on the bus please contact Cathy Ryan via email firstname.lastname@example.org
If anyone would like to donate or sponsor the bus service please send donations to Sole Bay Care Fund marked Community Bus. We are delighted that children from Southwold and Reydon primary schools are designing the logo and the winner will have their logo on the front of the bus and on all our communications.
Thank you to those who have already donated and pledged their support both financially and by giving up their time to drive. The wheels on the bus will go round and round again!
