After much discussion and deliberation we have decided not to hold the annual Switch – On at Reydon Corner this year, This is mainly due to the uncertainty over regulations regarding public gatherings and the fact that the regulations keep changing as the weeks go by making planning any event a bit of a logistical nightmare! We feel it would be irresponsible to encourage a large gathering which could lead to the transmission of the virus throughout our community and this is the last thing we would want to do.
However, all is not lost! Reydon will shine bright this Christmas. Following some wonderful donations and having managed to hold a couple of our fundraising events we believe we have enough to just about cover the costs of putting up the Christmas Lights around the village this year!
It will mean that our funds will be seriously depleted, and we will need to double up on our fundraising efforts for 2021. So with that in mind we would like to offer you the chance to ‘Sponsor a Light Bulb for 2020’. For a £5 donation per bulb, we ask you to write on a coloured piece of card which will then be laminated and hopefully hung up on display around Reydon Corner during December. It can be a dedication, a family name or message, the choice is yours! We will be outside Barbrooks on Saturday 10th October and Saturday 7th November between 9am and 1pm for you to come along and see us and Sponsor your Bulbs! We do hope that you will support us with this idea and look forward to seeing lots of you on those 2 Saturdays!
If you would prefer not to Sponsor a Bulb but would still like to make a donation this can be done by cheque payable to Reydon Christmas Lights via any member of the fundraising committee or pay a donation directly into our bank account the details of which are Account 30919853 Sort Code 209208. Please indicate your name on any direct transfer.
Thank you once again for your continued support particularly in these difficult times we are experiencing. Don’t forget to follow our Facebook page to keep up with all our news.
